Since January 18, 2021, many users will have noticed that the EPLAN Data Portal no longer works with versions 2.7 and older. The functionality of the EPLAN Data Portal is no longer available for these versions. The company EPLAN Software & Service GmbH & Co. KG has been pointing this out for some time, but many users have been caught unawares.

Problem: EPLAN P8 2.7 and older versions - no more access to Dataportal
Background: The last 4 EPLAN P8 versions are downward compatible. This means, for example, that if you have a 2.9 version, versions 2.8, 2.7, 2.6 and 2.5 will still run. Unfortunately, this is not the case with the data portal. Here you should pay attention to the information and availability of the product data in the EPLAN data portal.
Solution A: "Pull up" the EPLAN P8 project to a higher version 2.8 or 2.9 and open the article database with this version or
Solution B: In 2.8 or 2.9 version, load articles from the data portal and link articles in the 2.7 project. Our experience with the EPLAN Data Portal allows us to carry out this process efficiently for you. This would be a solution to continue working on or complete the project in EPLAN version 2.7.
Life cycle of part data in the EPLAN Data Portal:
- Version 2.7 available until December 2020.
- Version 2.8 available until July 2021.
- Version 2.9 available until July 2022.
